It was such a great experience for Matt and I to go through the interview process together. It was fun being able to share with Marivic and her panel during the interview. It was really laid-back and fun! Plus the limo-ride and a free mini-photo-shoot were great too!

"I want to thank you all for all your hard work to bring us a beautiful bridal show to Blacksburg. I enjoyed meeting all the vendors and getting ideas for my wedding. The variety of vendors was outstanding and everyone was professional. It was nice that almost every vendor seemed to be color-coordinated in black, with the pretty ribbons on their tags. What a nice touch - it made the event very elegant & professional. But most of all, I want to say a big THANK YOU for the fashion show and the engagement video. I've gone to quite a few bridal shows to get ideas for my wedding. Every single time, the fashion shows are full of gorgeous models as it should be. But every single model looks like the one before - very, very thin all size 0 (2 at the max!); ALWAYS and usually very blond. Your show had the typical waif-like models - all size 0 (2 at the max!); all young -(age 22 OR YOUNGER!, but... and this is BIG: you had regular-people sized models as well! Every single one was stunningly gorgeous, but so many sizes and so many colors to choose from!
"Your show had all ages and sizes. It was refreshing to finally see a model like ME! I had become so discouraged. I thought I would NEVER find a dress that I could look great in. I am not a young 22-year-old bride and I haven't been a size zero since I was 10 years old. To see models that were my age and my size (and my complexion) was INCREDIBLE. It made me believe - for the FIRST TIME - that I can be beautiful on my day! I was stunned to learn at the end of the show that your "models" weren't even MODELS... they were indeed regular people like me! That decision to bring people from the community into the fashion show was the BEST and I hope other shows take your cue to include every size, shape, color and nationality in future bridal shows. Finally, it was remarkable to learn that the video of the engaged couples was done on the spot without retouching the models or professionally applying their makeup and hair. To know that a good photographer can capture such incredible photographs on the fly was uplifting! I speak for many other engaged couples: money is tight. We cant afford to have our hair & makeup done before an engagement session AND afford the engagement photos. To learn that these couples were not touched up on site and that the photos were NOT photo-shopped was inspiring.
So... KUDOS to the organizers of the Blacksburg Show. You all did an incredible job! Your enthusiasm showed and I loved the fact that there were obviously 3 women sharing the spotlight for the event. So often, these events are overshadowed by one very pushy person. It was refreshing to see what a group of professional ladies can accomplish when they work together. "
